Campus-Wide Policies

Student Privacy

At GDD we make every effort to protect the privacy of students. In the name of transparency, please note that “location tracking” is activated on all UFV-owned devices available for sign-out (iPads, cameras). It is the responsibility of each student to: Remove personal accounts and data before returning a device to GDD. GDD will not be held responsible for loss or accidental sharing of data left on equipment. All GDD computers, including iMacs, scanning stations, and servers, have the “remote management” feature activated so GDD can run updates and service machines. As a result tech staff may at any time view the desktop and remotely control each device. For your protection, please do not store sensitive/private material in your student folder on the File Server; it is accessible to staff, faculty, and peers. Please speak to a lab tech immediately if you have any issues concerning your privacy or security in our lab!
