Adobe Access
Here you will find instructions for the installation and use of Adobe Creative Cloud, which GDD students use in most of their classes. If you are a GDD diploma or degree student, you will have Adobe Access throughout your entire studies. If you are a non-GDD student taking a GDD course, you will have Adobe Access only during the semester of that class.
important
At the beginning of each semester, we add you to our back-end console which gives you licenses to the entire Adobe Creative Cloud list of apps. Your access to the Adobe apps will be revoked at the end of the exam period of each semester. You will be re-added shortly after if you need access the following semester.
How to Install Adobe Creative Cloud on a Mac
- Once you are added to the back-end you will receive an email letting you know you have access. If you do not receive this email check your spam folder or try to continue on to the next step.
- Go to the Adobe Account Page and log in or create an account using your student email
firstname.lastname@student.ufv.ca
.
important
Log in with your UFV student email only in order to access all the Adobe apps we have licensed for you.
Make sure you select the "Business/Educational" account, not "Personal" account when prompted.
When you are logged in successfully, proceed to access your apps and services. From here you can simply press "Install" on any of the apps your instructors have informed you to use.
We recommend that you start by installing Creative Cloud desktop application. From here, follow any of the onscreen instructions for application installation.
Troubleshooting Adobe Access Issues
Apps say "Free Trial" instead of "Install"
If your apps say "Free Trial" instead of "Install" or "Open," you did not log in correctly, or you don't have an active license yet.
Solutions:
- Log out by clicking your profile photo in the Adobe Creative Cloud app and click "Log Out."
- Restart your computer.
- Launch the Adobe Creative Cloud app and log in with your UFV student email.
firstname.lastname@student.ufv.ca
. - Select the "Business/Educational" account, not "Personal" account when prompted.
If this does not work, visit the GDD lab techs in C1419 or email gddlabtech@ufv.ca and request to be added to the backend console to receive an Adobe license. The techs will add you if you are currently enrolled in a GDD course.
